Welcome to SDNP Virtual Library Information System (VLIS). VLIS is an extension of CDS ISIS, world wide recognized library software sponsored by UNESCO to bring CDS ISIS based library database on information super highway. Availing the full benefit of information technology it will facilitate access to library catalog and other library materials freely accessible over the Internet.

VLIS is developed hosted and maintained by Sustainable Development Networking Programme (SDNP) team and under the guidance of expert library professionals. The mission of the VLIS is to develop a forum for those people interested in promoting effective library media accumulating database of different libraries all over Bangladesh and to publish them in the web through Internet.

The main objectives of the Virtual Library Information System are:

    • To advocate the development of online library system all over Bangladesh.
    • To build a community of online library professionals.
    • To arrange training activities for the interested library personnel to bring their library online.
    • To publish library catalogue and other materials in the web for internet users all over the world.
    • To foster and extend relationships between online readers and writers.
    • To initiate and co-ordinate other activities like conference, workshop and other projects to develop Virtual Library Information System.
